The Public Petitions Committee is established pursuant to Standing 208A of the National Assembly Standing Orders. The Committee— (a) considers all public petitions tabled in the House; (b) makes such recommendations as may be appropriate with respect to the prayers sought in the petitions; (c) recommends whether the findings arising from consideration of a petition should be debated; and (d) advises the House and reports on all public petitions submitted to it.
