Mr. Mohamed Ali Mohamed.

Mr. Mohamed Ali is a long-serving parliamentary staffer. He currently serves as a Deputy Clerk in the Senate where he is charged with overseeing the management of the proceedings of the Senate, offers procedural advice to the Speaker and presiding officers, supervises the Directorate of Legislative and Procedural Services, Directorate of Serjeant-at-Arms, leadership offices, Finance and Accounting Services, Supply Chain Management Services, County Liaison Office and Engineering and Maintenance Services. In addition, he coordinates external relations including inter-parliamentary relations, conference and protocol affairs and manages outreach programmes. 

During the Clerk’s absence, he performs the duties of Clerk. Mr. Mohamed holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Strategic Management and through Parliament’s robust training programme he has undertaken various trainings in transformative leadership ethics integrity, change management, corporate governance and parliamentary procedure and practice institutions of international repute.

Eunice Gichangi, MBS

Ms. Eunice Gichangi serves as a Deputy Clerk in the Senate of the Parliament of Kenya, a position she has held since July, 2016.
Ms. Gichangi is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Laws Degree from the University of Cape Town.
As Deputy Clerk, Ms. Gichangi is a member of various management Boards and Committees charged with providing strategic and policy direction to the Senate and to the Parliamentary Service Commission. Ms. Gichangi is also charged with the responsibility of providing procedural and technical advice to the Speaker and the House leadership and is responsible for various legislative functions, including, overseeing the Directorate of the Governance & Accountability Committees, the Directorate of Socio-Economic Committees, the Directorate of Legal Services, the Directorate of Litigation & Compliance, the Directorate of Hansard & Audio Services, the Senate Liaison Office and the Research Department.

Before her appointment to the position of Deputy Clerk, Ms. Gichangi served as the Director of Legal Services in the Senate, a position she held from October, 2012. She also previously served as Senior Legal Counsel in the National Assembly, before the advent of the bicameral Parliament. Prior to joining the Parliament of Kenya, Ms. Gichangi served as a Lecturer in law 
at the Faculty of Law, University of Nairobi as well as at the School of Business, United States International University. She also served in the research and drafting technical teams of the Constitution of Kenya Review Commission and the Committee of Eminent Persons on the Review of the Constitution of Kenya in the processes leading the enactment of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya
