Sen Alexander Mundigi (Embu) has pressed the Senate Committee on Roads, Transportation and Housing to explain the prolonged delay in tarmacking the Siakago-Soko-Kamumu-Kanyuambora road in Mbeere North, Embu County.

Despite construction beginning in 2021, only three kilometres of the 35-kilometre stretch have been completed. The project was retendered in 2023, yet progress remains stalled. Sen Mundigi is demanding answers on the estimated cost, reasons for continued delays and the contractorโ€™s absence from the site.

He has also called for a clear timeline from the Ministry on when the road will be completed, insisting that residents of Mbeere North and Embu County deserve assurances that the project will proceed without further setbacks.
