Senator Fatuma Dullo (Isiolo) has requested a Statement from the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare concerning the employment status of Chief Officers in Isiolo County an issue of significant public interest.

In her request, Senator Dullo sought clarity on whether the contracts of the Chief Officers expired on 15th March 2025 and the reasons behind the County Governmentโ€™s failure to either renew the contracts or advertise the vacant positions to date.

The Senator further urged the Committee, chaired by Senator Issa Boy to investigate why the recruitment process for replacements has not commenced and to evaluate the resulting impact on governance, decision-making and service delivery within the County. She also called for the identification of any interim measures that have been put in place to mitigate service disruption in the absence of substantive Chief Officers.

Additionally, the Committee is expected to provide information on the County Governmentโ€™s plans to promptly fill the vacant positions and ensure continuity of essential services, including a clear timeline for the recruitment and appointment process.
