SENATOR MUNDIGI SEEKS ACCOUNTABILITY ON DELAYED EMBU BRIDGESSenate ChamberTuesday, 28th October 2025Senator Alexander Mundigi (Embu) has raised concern over prolonged delays in the construction of the Mukoongoro and Mwiria bridges, which remain incomplete despite allocations by the Ministry of Roads and Transport.While seeking a statement from the Senate Standing Committee on Roads, Housing and Transportation senator Mundigi noted that the two bridges are vital for residents who rely on them for market access and essential services. “Our people should not continue risking their lives because of stalled projects. They deserve safe and reliable road infrastructure,” he said.He called upon the committee to sought clarity on funds spent from 2018 to 2025, the commencement date of construction, and whether allocations exist for the 2025/2026 financial year.He further urged the ministry to expedite installation of road signage along the Embu County Ring Roads to enhance safety compliance.
