Sunday, 29 March, 2026
The Clerk of the Senate, Mr. Jeremiah Nyegenye, has called for enhanced coordination, professionalism, and efficiency among protocol officers and airport operations teams, underscoring their shared role in shaping Kenya’s national image.
Speaking during a joint training held from March 26 to 29, 2026 in Machakos County, Nyegenye noted that both parliamentary protocol and airport services are central to ensuring dignity, order, and seamless management of high-level engagements.
The Secretary to the Parliamentary Service Commission emphasized that effective handling of VVIP movements depends on strong inter-agency collaboration, clear communication, and well-structured procedures, particularly in accessing key airport facilities.
Mr. Nyegenye urged officers to uphold integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism, especially in high-pressure situations that demand quick judgment and precision.
Speaking on behalf of Ben Furaha, Director Speaker’s Office, Deputy Director Ms. Amina Nassor reinforced the message, describing the training as a platform for honest reflection and practical improvement.
She encouraged participants to openly share experiences, strengthen coordination between Senate protocol and airport teams, and develop workable solutions to existing challenges.
She stressed that successful protocol work is a collective effort, calling for better planning, improved communication, and the establishment of consistent operating procedures to enhance service delivery.
Clerk Nyegenye concluded by urging continuous learning and collaboration, as he officially opened the Senate Public Communications Department and Airport Stakeholders retreat.
