Speaker of the Senate Rt Hon Amason Kingi hosted Mr Leonard Mambo Mbotela, a legendary radio journalist who made a courtesy call on the Speaker this afternoon.

Leonard Mambo Mbotela is a household name in our country. For many years, his trademark voice dominated the airwaves, be it during live soccer commentaries or major national events, attracting attentive audiences across the country.

The icing on the cake was Leonard’s iconic Kiswahili radio show, “Jee, Huu Ni Ungwana?” in which he took on leaders and ordinary citizens alike, holding them to account for behaviour deemed to have gone against societal expectations and our collective aspirations as a nation.

The Speaker also bought copies of Mr Mambo's memorable memoir, "Jee Huu Ni Ungwana?".
