Senator Tabitha Mutinda has urged the Senate to investigate allegations of sexual harassment, intimidation, and discrimination within the Kenya Union of Domestic, Hotels, Educational Institutions, and Hospital Workers (KUDHEIHA).

In a Statement request directed to the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare, chaired by Sen Julius Murgor, she urged to Committee to provide details on the unionโ€™s policies to protect workers from abuse. She called for a review of existing safeguards, including measures to prevent retaliation against complainants and whistle-blowers.

The senator also pressed for a detailed account of complaints received by KUDHEIHA over the past three years, urging transparency on how cases of harassment and discrimination have been handled.

Sen Mutinda stressed the urgency of ensuring accountability and strengthening workplace protections, underscoring the need for a safe and dignified environment for all employees under the unionโ€™s purview.
