Kwale Senator Boy Issa Juma elected Chairperson of Senate Trade Committee, Esther Okenyuri as Deputy

The Senate Committee on Trade, Industrialization and Tourism has unanimously elected Senator Boy Issa Juma (Kwale) as the chairperson and Senator Esther Okenyuri (Nominated) as vice chairperson during elections held today following the nomination of new members to the committee.

The committee welcomed new members including Senators John Methu (Nyandarua), George Mbugua (Nominated) and Godfrey Osotsi (Vihiga), Hamida Kibwana (Nominated). Other Members are Senator Jackson Mandago ( Uasin Gishu), Sen. Karungo Thangwa (Kiambu), and Sen. Okiya Omtatah (Busia)

The Senate Standing Committee on Trade, Industrialization and Tourism is established under standing order 228(3) and the Fourth Schedule of the Senate Standing Orders and is mandated to consider all matters relating to trade, industrialization, tourism, cooperatives, investment and divestiture policies.
