The Committee on Regional Integration is established pursuant to Standing 212 of the National Assembly Standing Orders. The Committee— (a) enhances the role and involvement of the House in the intensification and development of the integration process in the East African Community and the greater African region; (b) examines the records of all the relevant debates and resolutions of the meetings of the East African Legislative Assembly; (c) examines the Bills introduced in the East African Legislative Assembly and Acts of the East African Community; (d) examines the records of all the relevant debates and resolutions of the meetings of the Pan-African Parliament, the African, Caribbean and Pacific European Union Joint Parliamentary Assembly and other regional integration bodies; and (e) inquires into and examines any other matter relating to regional integration generally requiring action by the House.
