Speaker Wetang’ula leads Parliament in mourning Malava MP Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢,𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓
The National Assembly is in mourning following the passing of Malava Member of Parliament, Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi.
Hon. Injendi passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 5:15 PM at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi County.
Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Masika Wetang'ula, E.G.H, MP, confirmed the lawmaker’s demise, describing him as a dedicated leader whose contributions to Parliament and his constituents will be deeply missed.
“Hon. Injendi was serving his third term as a Member of the House, having been elected continuously since 2013. He was a passionate and committed representative who served his constituents with unwavering dedication and integrity,” Wetang’ula stated.
Senate Speaker Rt. Hon Amason Jeffah Kingi EGH while paying his tribute to the fallen legislator described him as a commited and dedicated public servant who was loved by his constituents.
"Hon Malulu was serving his third term as MP, a feat that underlined the great confidence the people of Malava had in his leadership, earning him a continuous stint in the National Assembly," said the Senate Speaker.
"Our hearts go out to the family of Hon Malulu, his constituents, friends, and Kenyans who interacted with him in the course of his duties following this sad loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace, "added Speaker Kingi.
Until his passing, Injendi was the Vice Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Education and Research, where he played a key role in shaping policies in the education sector.
He was also a strong advocate for reforms in the sugar industry, championing policies aimed at revitalizing the sector for the benefit of farmers and the economy.
“As we come to terms with this great loss, let us remember Hon. Injendi for his remarkable service and the positive impact he had on our nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, constituents, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him,” added Speaker Wetang’ula
Leader of the Majority and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah described him as a passionate and committed legislator, whose tireless advocacy transformed lives in Malava.
“It is with heartfelt sympathy that we mourn a colleague and friend, Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi. His dedication to serving Malava and his unwavering commitment to uplifting his constituents were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of working alongside him in Parliament,” Ichung’wah said.
Reflecting on their time together, Ichung’wah praised Injendi’s integrity and leadership, emphasizing that his legacy would endure.
“I was honored to serve with him and will always remember his passion, integrity, and tireless advocacy for the people. His legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he touched,” he added.
Hon Julius Melly (Tinderet) who is the Chairperson of the National Assembly's Education and Research Committee said, he had lost not only a colleague but a dear friend.
"Hon. Malulu was more than a colleague—we served together in the 11th, 12th, and now the 13th Parliament. As Vice Chairman of the Education Committee, he was dependable, honest, and diligent. His unwavering commitment to public service and education made a lasting impact. His leadership, wisdom, and dedication to his people were truly admirable," he said.
"On behalf of the Education Committee and myself, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family and to the people of Malava. May they find strength and comfort in this difficult time, " added Hon Melly.
Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa echoed these sentiments, hailing Injendi as an exemplary leader known for his level-headedness, selflessness, and ability to articulate issues with clarity and conviction.
“My condolences extend to his family, friends, and the constituents of Malava. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” said Barasa.
Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka expressed his sadness, remembering Injendi as a respected colleague and friend.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of my colleague and friend, Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi, Malava Constituency Member of Parliament,” he tweeted.
Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang paid tribute to Injendi’s service and faith, acknowledging his life as one dedicated to the glory of God and the welfare of others.
“We give thanks for a life so well lived to God’s glory and in service to others. Give rest, O Christ, to thy servant with thy saints. May the Lord comfort his family, friends, and the people he served with such devotion. Rest in peace, Hon. Malulu Injendi.”
Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe described Injendi as a selfless and visionary leader who devoted his life to uplifting Malava Constituency.
“Hon. Injendi embodied unwavering dedication and selflessness, devoting his life to uplifting Malava Constituency with humility and visionary purpose.
During this time of profound loss, my deepest condolences extend to his family, friends, and the entire Malava fraternity. May you find comfort in his enduring legacy and strength in the memories of his transformative service.
