The political leadership of Kakamega County, clergy, local leaders, family, and friends gathered last evening at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Malava Parish, for a second requiem mass in honor of the late Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi, ahead of his final rites.
The solemn yet reflective service brought together leaders from across the political spectrum, led by Kakamega Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa, Senator Boni Khalwale, and several Members of Parliament, including Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), Innocent Mugabe (Likuyani), Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani), Nabii Nabwera (Lugari), Dr. Wilberforce Oundo (Funyula), Beatrice Adagala (Vihiga County MP), and Elsie Muhanda (Kakamega County MP).
Also present was Higher Education Principal Secretary Dr. Beatrice Inyangala.
Governor Fernandes Barasa described the late Malulu Injendi as a selfless leader who dedicated his life to serving the people of Malava and the larger Kakamega County.
โHon. Malulu was a devoted leader, a man of integrity, and a true champion for his people. His contributions to education, infrastructure, and social development will forever be remembered,โ he said.
Senator Boni Khalwale, known for his passionate speeches, paid a moving tribute, recalling Malulu's unwavering commitment to uplifting his constituents.
โHe was a fearless leader who always prioritized the needs of his people. His passing is not only a loss to Malava but to the entire Western region,โ he stated.
Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe eulogized Malulu as a man of the people, whose leadership was marked by humility and hard work.
โHis doors were always open. Whether it was a local villager or a high-ranking official, Malulu always listened and acted,โ he noted.
Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe and his Ikolomani counterpart Bernard Shinali both echoed sentiments of loss, with Mugabe stating that Maluluโs mentorship shaped many upcoming leaders in the region.
โHe was a mentor, a brother, and a friend. His legacy will live on,โ said Shinali.
Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera emphasized the need for leaders to emulate Maluluโs dedication to service, while Dr. Wilberforce Oundo of Funyula described him as a leader who believed in unity and progress.
On behalf of women leaders, Beatrice Adagala (Vihiga County MP) and Elsie Muhanda (Kakamega County MP) remembered Malulu as a strong advocate for womenโs empowerment, while Higher Education PS Dr. Beatrice Inyangala lauded his efforts in promoting education and youth development in the region.
The clergy, led by the officiating priests at St. Teresa Catholic Church, prayed for Maluluโs soul and comforted the bereaved family.
They urged leaders and the community to uphold the values he stood forโunity, service, and integrity.
