Parliamentary Budget Office hosts counterparts from Zimbabwe, during study visit to build capacity and share knowledgeππ¨π§πππ² πππ«ππ‘ π, ππππ
A delegation of parliamentary budget staff from Zimbabwe led by Mrs. Luciah Nyawayo Acting Deputy Clerk has arrived in Kenya for a week-long study tour of the Kenyan Parliament.
The delegation aims to learn from the Kenyan bicameral Parliament's legislative and administrative processes.
The team kicked off their study visit with a tour of Parliament Buildings during which the delegation got an overview of the history of the Parliamentary Service Commission, its establishment, and its mandate from the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Madam Sarah Kioko.
They were also taken through the Parliamentary Service Act, the Role of Parliamentary Joint Services in facilitating the two Houses, and were also briefed on the Structure and functions of the Kenya Parliamentary Budget Office.
The study tour is intended to strengthen the National Assembly of Zimbabwe as a critical institution of governance by learning from the mechanisms, approaches, and processes of the Parliament of Kenya, with a particular focus on budget policiesβ framework and sectoral analysis.
During their visit, the delegation will have technical engagements with the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) on Budget Policy Statements, sectoral budget and policy analysis, Analysis of Public Debt, and on Money Bill determination.
They are also scheduled to attend Thursday's afternoon sitting of the National Assembly whereby they will observe the House proceedings from the Speakerβs gallery.
The delegation comprises of Mrs. Luciah Nyawayo Acting Deputy Clerk, Mr. Tapiwa Gumbo Director Parliamentary Budget Office, Mr. Tatenda Munyikwa Deputy Director, Parliamentary Budget Office, Ms Better Sibandu, Deputy Director Parliamentary Office and Mr. Oswald Mudzingwa, an Economic Analyst.
Others are : Mrs. Nancy Shora also Economics Analyst, Ngonidzashe Sibanda, a Financial Analyst and Ms. Faith Manhivi, a Budget Committee Clerk
