IEBC Chairperson Interviews Enter Second Day𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂, 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢 – 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓
The Selection Panel tasked with recruiting nominees for the Chairperson and members of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) continued its interviews today, at the College of Insurance, in South C, Nairobi.
Four candidates were interviewed for the Chairperson position, bringing the total to eight over the first two days of the process.
The Panel, chaired by Dr. Nelson Makanda, firstly heard from Mr. Erastus Edung Ethekon, former Turkana County Attorney, who holds three master's degrees in Oil, Gas & Energy Law, Project Management, and Peace, Conflict & Development Studies.
Mr. Francis Kakai Kissinger, former Acting and Deputy Chief Registrar of the Judiciary of Kenya came in second while Mr. Jacob Ngwele Muvengei, current Chief Legal Advisor at the Isiolo County Government and former Clerk of the Nairobi County Assembly was interviewed third.
Ms. Joy Brenda Masinde Mdivo, current Chairperson of the Board of Directors at the Kenya Power and Lighting Company closed the day with her interview extended to 7:45pm.
Tomorrow, the Panel is set to conclude the Chairperson interviews with the final three candidates: Ms. Lilian Wanjiku Manegene, Mr. Robert Akumu Asembo, and Mr. Saul Simiyu Wasilwa.
Following the conclusion of the Chairperson interviews, the Panel will begin interviewing shortlisted candidates for member positions, scheduled to run from Thursday, March 27, 2025, to Friday, April 25, 2025.
