Kenya renews calls for waiver of subscription fee arrears to the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region

Kenya has renewed its call for waiver of subscription fee arrears to the Forum of Parliaments of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (FP-ICGLR). The matter came up during the ongoing 15th Ordinary Session of the FP-ICGLR in Luanda, Angola, where the Kenyan delegation noted that the arrears totalling USD 968, 862 had accrued from the period between 2012 - 2015 when Kenya was not participating in the FP-ICGLR activities, and was thus a dormant contributor. 

The delegation led by Senate Speaker, the Rt. Hon. Amason Kingi noted that Kenya had for the past 10 years been a consistent contributor to its annual subscription fees.

Speaker Kingi also raised the matter before the Conference of the FP-ICGLR Speakers where a resolution was made that the matter be raised as a substantive agenda in the next Speakers' Conference.
