Public hearings on the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2025 kick off in Mombasa county

Mombasa County, Sunday 4th, 2025.

The National Assembly is set to commence public hearings in Mombasa County tomorrow, Monday, 5th May 2025, as part of the nationwide engagement on the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2025. The hearings will be conducted across all six constituencies Likoni, Jomvu, Changamwe, Kisauni, Nyali, Mvita, and at the Office of the Mombasa County Woman Representative.

Members of the National Assembly from Mombasa County, namely Hon. Mishi Mboko (Likoni), Hon. Badi Twalib (Jomvu), Hon. Omar Mwinyi (Changamwe), Hon. Mohamed Ali (Nyali), Hon. Rashid Bedzimba (Kisauni), Hon. Mohamed Machele (Mvita), and Hon. Zamzam Mohamed (County MP), are inviting residents to attend the forums at their respective constituency offices.

The Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2025, seeks to entrench key national development and oversight funds into the Constitution, including the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), and the Senate Oversight Fund.

The hearings will run from Monday, 5th to Thursday, 8th May 2025. Citizens from all corners of Mombasa County are urged to participate actively in this crucial public engagement process.
