NGAAF Office, Amalemba – Kakamega County Monday, May 5, 2025
A spirited public participation exercise has kicked off today in Kakamega County, drawing residents to the NGAAF Office in Amalemba to voice their opinions on the proposed Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
The event, convened at the office of Kakamega County Women Representative Hon. Elsie Muhanda, marks a key moment in the ongoing national dialogue on whether to anchor three critical development funds in the Constitution: the National Government Constituencies Fund, the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), and the Senate Oversight Fund.
Community members, civic leaders, and youth representatives have turned up in large numbers to share their experiences with the funds, reflect on their impact, and suggest improvements. This grassroots engagement is a vital step in shaping the future of resource allocation and oversight in Kenya.
A team from the National Assembly is concurrently collecting feedback in Mumias East, Khwisero, and Ikolomani Constituency CDF offices today, ensuring voices from across the county are heard.
The submissions gathered during these forums will inform parliamentary deliberations on the Amendment Bill, making the exercise a key pillar in the legislative process.
