Nyeri County residents come out in support of NG-CDF, NGAAF and Senate oversight funds entrenchment into the constitution.

Residents of Nyeri County drawn from the six Sub-Counties and the office of the County MP have today come out in large numbers in support of the public participation exercise that comenced today seeking to amend the Constitution to establish the National Government Constituencies Fund (NG-CDF), the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) and the Senate Oversight Fund.
The exercise conducted by officers from the National Assembly, was carried out in all sub-County offices; Nyeri Town, Tetu, Othaya, Mukurwe-ini, Mathira, Kieni and the office of the County MP. Locals were given the opportunity to express their views through the filling of public participation forms from the National Assembly.
"The National Government Constituencies Fund was one of the best ideas Kenya has ever had, it unlocked development in the rural or remote areas of this Country, when our kids from poor families go to school with ease, it opens up the society, we thank the late President Mwai Kibaki, our son, for starting this gift", said a resident of Othaya.
Tetu member of Parliament Hon. Geoffrey Wandeto and his Colleagues Hon. Erick Wamumbi (Mathira) and the County MP, Hon. Rahab Mukami who appeared during the exercise today, took the opportunity to recount on the history, progress and impact the funds have had to their community.
"NG-CDF has a long history in this country, the education infrastructure is largely supported by this funds, bursary has been a game changer, let Kenyans support it's entrenchment to the constitution as a way of supporting the great work we are doing to our people", Hon. Wandeto.
The Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill No. 4 of 2025 public participation exercise continues tomorrow across the Country.
