Joyce Kamene Kasimbi, in Machakos County. The proposed amendment seeks to entrench three key development funds into the Constitution: the National Government Constituencies Fund, the Senate Oversight Fund, and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund. The funds play a vital role in supporting grassroots development across the country.During the sessions also attended by Mavoko MP Hon Patrick Makau, participants expressed overwhelming support for the proposal, noting the significant impact these funds have had in their communities. They cited improvements in education through bursaries, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and the development of local infrastructure as key benefits they have experienced. If the amendment is passed into law, the three funds will receive allocations from the National Government’s share of revenue, as determined annually by the Division of Revenue Act.Kenyans are encouraged to continue participating in this important national conversation and make their voices heard on the future of inclusive development.
