𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒:-Residents of Rarieda Constituency have turned out in large numbers on the second Day of the public participation exercise.

Speaking at the event, the area MP. Hon. Otiende Amollo emphasised the importance of anchoring the National Government Constituency Fund, the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) and the Senate Oversight Fund into the Constitution.

"Some people found it fit to challenge the Funds not for what it does but because it lacks constitutional backing. This is why we are seeking to entrench the Funds into the constitution as the Constitution can't be unconstitutional," stated Hon. Otiende.

He further revealed that the former Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Amolo Odinga had expressed his reservation on limiting MPS to the Legislation, Oversight and Representation roles, noting that this formed his basis for seeking removal of the word "Development" from NG-CDF to National Government Constituency Fund.

Sharing their views and experiences of the NG-CDF, the beneficiaries strongly supported the move to constitutionalise the Fund.

Those who attended the event include the Deputy County Commissioner, Schools Principals, Chiefs, Sub Chiefs and members of the public, among others.
