Members of Parliament who participated in the procession alongside Hon. Were's family included: Homa Bay Town MP Hon. Peter Kaluma, Kasipul Kabondo MP Hon. Eve Obara, Karachuonyo MP Hon. Adipo Okuome, Homa Bay County MP Hon. Atieno Bensouda, Suba North MP Hon. Millie Mabona, and Homa Bay Senator Sen. Moses Otieno Kajwang.
