MPs united in grief as late Hon. Charles Were is laid to rest๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฝ๐๐น, ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐,๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐, ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ต, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฑ
A large delegation of Members of Parliament and other national leaders gathered in Kasipul, Homa Bay County, today to pay their final respects to the late Hon. Charles Ongโondo Were.
The solemn ceremony held at Karabok Primary School grounds reflected the deep sense of loss felt across the political divide, with leaders from both the National Assembly and the Senate standing in solidarity with the family and constituents of the fallen legislator.
Leading the delegation was the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Wetangโula, accompanied by Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) Commissioners Hon. Joyce Korir, Hon. Mishi Mboko, Hon. Rachel Ameso, and Hon. Johnson Muthama.
A strong show of unity was evident as Members of both houses of Parliament from across the country came together to honour their departed colleague.
Among those present were Hon. Millie Mabona, Hon. Rosa Buyu, Hon. Eve Obara, Hon. Joyce Osogo, and Hon. Peter Kaluma, who stood closely with the bereaved family.
Others who attended included Hon. (Dr.) James Nyikal, Hon. Samuel Atandi, Hon. TJ Kajwang, Hon. Otiende Amollo, Hon. Babu Owino, Hon. Raphael Wanjala, and Hon. Muthoni Marubu.
Also present were Hon. Joash Nyamoko, Hon. Martin Wanyonyi, Hon. Walter Owino, Hon. Fatuma Mohamed, Hon. Jerusha Momanyi, Hon. Hillary Kosgei, Hon Oku Kaunya, Hon James Oyoo, Hon Dick Maungu, and Hon Jack Wamboka.
The Senate had a strong representation, with Hon. Godfrey Osotsi, Hon. Edwin Sifuna, Hon. Oburu Odinga, Hon. Moses Kajwang, and Hon. Beatrice Ogola in attendance.
More Members of the National Assembly who joined the mourners included Hon. Ruth Odinga, Hon. Paul Nzengu, Hon. Kitayama Maisori, Hon. Adipo Okuome, Hon. Martin Peters Owino, Hon. Joseph Tanui, Hon. Peter Masara, Hon. Charles Kamuren, and Hon. John Makali.
Also present were Hon. Peter Orero, Hon. Dominic Koskei, Hon. (Dr.) Christine Ombaka, Hon. Harrison Kombe, Hon. Paul Abuor, Hon. Shakil Shabir, Hon. Jared Okello, Hon. Joshua Oron, and Hon. Aduma Owuor.
