Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Masika Wetang'ula, E.G.H,MP, has called on Kenyan leaders to put aside personal interests and focus on unity, integrity, and national renewal.

Speaking during the 2025 National Prayer Breakfast held at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Speaker Wetang’ula emphasized the importance of moral leadership and collective responsibility in addressing the country's challenges.

The annual event brought together President William Ruto, First Lady Rachel Ruto, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Members of Parliament, religious leaders, and international guests.

Addressing the President, Wetang’ula encouraged him to remain steadfast even in the face of increased criticism. To butress his point, the Speaker made reference to the Bible, quoting Isaiah 54:17: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper.”

He urged the Head of State to stay focused on the broader goal of national progress.

At the same time, the Speaker commended the event's organizers, Hon. Samuel Chepkong’a and Senator Dan Maanzo, describing the Prayer Breakfast as a key moment of spiritual reflection and national recommitment.

“This annual gathering has become more than a routine event—it is a source of divine guidance and a reaffirmation of the values that hold us together,” he said.

Guided by this year’s theme, “Rise and Rebuild,” Speaker Wetang’ula stressed that rebuilding the nation is a shared responsibility.

“It is not the duty of government alone. It begins with each of us—our hearts, our values, and our sense of duty,” he stated.

He concluded by urging Kenyans to remain hopeful and united, upholding truth, justice, and compassion as the foundation for a stronger future.
