Trade committee begins review of 2026 budget policy statement

The National Assembly's Committee on Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, chaired by Hon. Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani), has commenced deliberations on the 2026 Budget Policy Statement for ministries under its purview.
Today, the members of the House team quizzed the Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade, and Industry Hon. Lee Kinyanjui regarding the ministry’s spending plan.
CS Kinyanjui was accompanied by Principal Secretaries Abubakar Hassan (Investment Promotion), and Regina Ombam (Trade), along with senior officials from various state agencies.
Next week, we will hold a consultative engagement with the CS for Cooperatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development, Hon. Wycliffe Oparanya, regarding the spending plan of the Ministry and its State Departments and agencies.
