Security Lapses And Poor Facilities Sham Per Kisumu Registration Services, House Committee Told

Sunday, 29 March, 2026

The National Registration Bureau (NRB) in Kisumu County has raised concerns over insecurity and poor working conditions, calling on the government to undertake urgent renovations of its offices.

During engagements with the Committee on Administration and Internal Security, the Assistant Director of NRB, Ms. Robina Owino, stated that the offices they operate from are in a deplorable state, exposing both staff and members of the public to security risks.

Ms. Owino noted that the Bureau has incurred losses due to the unsafe environment, adding that the current infrastructure is inadequate to support efficient service delivery.

She emphasized the need for immediate intervention to improve security systems and refurbish the facilities to ensure the safety of personnel and enhance service delivery.

The Committee, led by Hon. Col. (Rtd.) Dido Rasso, noted the concerns raised by the Bureau and underscored the need for urgent intervention to address the security and infrastructural challenges.

Members assured that the issues would be taken up with the relevant authorities to ensure improved working conditions and service delivery.

“The Committee is committed to ensuring that the concerns raised are addressed promptly through the appropriate channels to enhance service delivery and safeguard both staff and citizens.” Hon. Rasso
