๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐|| The Standing Committee on Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations, led by Sen. Catherine Mumma (Nominated), retreats to Kiambu County to deliberate on stakeholder submissions on the Office of the County Attorney (Amendment) Bill, 2024 (Senate Bills No. 47 of 2024) and the County Government Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024 (Senate Bills No. 52 of 2024).
The Office of the County Attorney (Amendment) Bill seeks to amend the County Attorney Act to enhance the qualifications for appointment of the County Attorney and the County Solicitor, while the County Government Laws (Amendment) Bill seeks to amend the County Governments Act to provide for specific functions for the Office of the Deputy Governor.
The Committee will subsequently take into consideration the submissions before tabling its reports of the two bills on the floor of the House.
