Senate Agriculture Committee engages stakeholders on Budget Policy and Medium-Term Debt Strategy๐๐๐ซ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ฒ, ๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก ๐๐๐๐
The Senate Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has engaged key stakeholders on the 2025 Budget Policy Statement (BPS) and the Medium-Term Debt Management Strategy (MTDS), assessing financial priorities for the sector.
Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eng. Eric Mugaa, alongside Irrigation Principal Secretary CPA Ephantus Kimotho, outlined expenditure ceilings, capital projects and policy priorities shaping the ministryโs 2025 budget. They also updated senators on progress in implementing the IGTRC Gazette Notice of December 2024.
Agriculture Principal Secretary Paul Kpronoh highlighted the importance of financial prudence in achieving sustainable growth, transparency, and accountability in public finance. Meanwhile, Livestock Principal Secretary Jonathan Mueke reaffirmed his departmentโs commitment to efficient resource use to drive agricultural productivity and improve livelihoods.
